Character Name: Nara'a Sunvara (Warrior of Light)
Canon: Final Fantasy XIV
Canon Point: After 7.3
Age: 27

History:
Pre-ARR

Nara'a Sunvara was born in the Wellwick Wood, on the border of Thanalan and the Black Shroud. He and his tribe hunted and gathered, as miqo'te do, and life was relatively quiet. Nara'a (named as such since he was the first son of Nara Sunvara) had an unusual talent for magic. His mother did not entirely approve, preferring her eldest son practice with a bow rather than a staff, but quietly Nara'a kept his studies up. Besides, he'd always been a terrible shot.

Eventually this, plus the natural tendency for male Keepers of the Moon (his particular subspecies of miqo'te) to wander, escalated into a full blown argument between him and his mother. The end result was him apologizing for being so willful, but the damage was already done. He left his tribe on cool terms, leaving behind his mother, brother, and five sisters along with the rest of their small tribe to study in Ul'dah, home of the Thaumaturge's Guild in the hopes of developing his gifts further.

A Realm Reborn, Heavensward, Stormblood, Shadowbringers, Endwalker, Dawntrail
Is this character an AU? What type?: N/A
Personality:

Upon first glance you might think Nara'a is just A Hero, a blank person for people to cast their hopes and needs on. On some level that's true, but Nara'a is more than that. He's quick, clever, and somewhat sarcastic - at least around friends. Starting as an adventurer handing out snacks has led him to being the savior of the universe several times over, and to be honest it... scares him a bit.

Nara'a is scared of his responsibility and power, and makes great effort to keep his own feelings hidden from others. The Scions are likely aware of his anxiety, but the weight of his responsibilities is very heavy. He does not want to run away from it, but doing something like helping Wuk Lamat was supposed to be less stressful - and then it led to another world-altering crisis. This has made him exceedingly tired and a bit burnt out in some ways. He takes the breaks that he gets from adventuring to do things like read and build his crafting skills. He travels to see new vistas.

He also spends a lot of time alone, and gets in his own head. What does it mean to be a hero? He doesn't know. He's legitimately doing the best he can with what he has available, and he's faced death many times. He's fallen in battle only to get pulled up again. He's absorbed a ton of another world's Light into his own body and nearly turned into a horrifying creature. He's seen his friends disappear before his eyes.

It's all a lot. Sometimes it feels like it's too much. Sometimes he just wants to sit down and say 'no'. But people need him. People want him. People have to be defended, and like hells is he going to sit there and feel sorry for himself if someone needs him. He's self-sacrificing to a fault and will take on the pain so someone else doesn't have to, if he can. If he can't, he's there to help support them and help them along. He has friends who support him where they can and he's grateful for that, but too often he has to face things alone.

If he's supposed to save people, who's supposed to save him? ... He doesn't know. He's scared of failing and finding out that it's no one. Hydaelyn is gone. Who's left to hear his cries when he's lost in desperation?

Side note: Ardbert and Fray aren't fully assimilated into his head. He can't talk to them, they're not full multiples, but he does get Feelings occasionally. I wasn't sure where to put this, but there it is.

Powers and Abilities: Red Mage, Reaper, and Paladin job actions.

He also possesses Azem's crystal, which allows him to summon a Full Party allies from across the rift. Obviously that will not work here, but maybe allies from across the stacks will work too.

In addition, Nara'a possesses the Echo, a powerful ability that both protects him from being 'tempered' or mentally influenced by gods as well as allows him to see the past of another. This ability is not triggered by his own doing, but seems to occur 'randomly' (aka when plot relevant). He can also understand all languages, though only when spoken.

He can breathe underwater and swim very well, thanks to a Kojin blessing.

Also as a miqo'te he has slightly better hearing and eyesight than the average hyur (human). His fingers also end in short claws which he can use in a fight (though he tends not to).

On a more mundane level he has good tracking capabilities, knows how to fistfight even when he doesn't have any jobs equipped no he's not a Monk, has good survival skills out in the wild, and has a very good grasp on most magical things from his world. He's not the most formally learned of the Scions but he can keep up very well when his special interest is activated.

In terms of crafting he has Weaver, Leatherworker, and Carpenter at maximum level, and is a fair hand at Armoring, Blacksmithing, and Goldsmithing. He can maintain his equipment, but he's not quite at the level where he can make someone an endgame weapon.

Inventory: Red Mage job stone, Reaper job stone, Paladin job stone, Azem's crystal. He also has several Mate cookies, a hunting knife, a journal, and some basic sewing supplies.

Sample: Meowdy!

When presented with a choice, is the character more likely to stick with tried and true methods? Or make something new up on the fly? If it's something totally new he's jumping in with whatever he's got to do. If it's something he recognizes as part of a pattern he's got enough tricks up his sleeve to handle it.
What is more important to your character, preserving the past or forging a future? Crying in Ancients - He's the type to forge a new future. Do I need to quote Close in the Distance at you? Because I will.
How does your character influence their own story? What about the stories of others? To many people he's the Hero, the Warrior of Light (and Darkness). People look to him as part of their hopes and dreams. ... In his own story, he's simply a man who does his best, who tries to make up for what he didn't have as a child with his service to others.

Are you alright with your character’s canon being used as a Recommended Reading?: Absolutely yes. I'm fully willing to help flesh this out. I've got encyclopedias IRL and also in my head.
